The project comprises the Construction of 21 Academic and Administration Buildings for the Campus of the King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST), located on the Red Sea at Thurwal, 80km north of Jeddah in Saudi Arabia.
Designed by US offices of HOK up to the equivalent of RIBA Stage E, the project is being designed and built by Saudi Oger with back office support from Oger International based in Paris. All project procedures, detailed design, procurement and management of subcontractors up until delivery to site is being managed from Paris. The project is in English and comprises two separate back to back contracts; one for Out of Kingdom, Paris based and one Inner Kingdom, Saudi based.
An adjacent project being built by Saudi Bin Laden will create the adjoining town with commercial and amenity facilities.
